On March 26th several youth and their parents attended the inaugural 4-H Fly Fishing meeting. New club leaders and members were introduced to one another and discussed the direction of the club.
The next 4-H Fly Fishing meeting is on April 1st at 6:30pm at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Education Center in Warrensburg. There will be a field trip to the Warren County Fish Hatchery in Warrensburg on April 12th at 10:00am for a tour. The group will then return to Cornell University Cooperative Extension’s Education Center for a fly tying and casting program. The cost of this field trip is $5.00 per person.

I have caught trout and salmon on spinning rigs. A friend let me take a turn with his fly rig while I was in Alaska. The differance was akin to driving a truck, and a porsche. The fly rig was so much more sensitive, and responsive than the spinning reels I was brought up on. They are differant, but worth the investment of time it takes getting used to them.
I have three boys that would love to learn more about fly fishing. We live in northern saratoga co. Just across the river is Warren county. would love to know more about the fly fishing club
